State Government Committee to Consider Measures to Cut Costs, Reform Spending and Improve Government Efficiency
WHAT: Pennsylvania House State Government Committee Majority Chairman Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) will convene a public hearing focusing on legislation to: constitutionally limit state spending (House Bill 116); establish the Legislative Budget, Finance and Audit Committee (House Bill 249); establish the Council of Efficient Government (House Bill 250); and require all election ballot referendum questions regarding incurring state debt to contain a fiscal note (House Bill 357); and audit the effectiveness of all state agencies and programs (House Bill 2201).

WHO: Legislative sponsors in attendance will include: Reps. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin), Seth Grove (R-York), Tim Krieger (R-Westmoreland) and John Lawrence (R-Chester). Testifiers will include: Meaghan Archer, American Legislative Exchange Council; Philip Durgin, Legislative Budget and Finance Committee; and Jennifer Stefano, Americans for Prosperity.
