PA House-Senate State Government Committees to Weigh Pros and Cons for Convention of States
WHAT: Pennsylvania House State Government Committee Chairman and Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) and Pennsylvania Senate State Government Committee Chairman Mike Folmer (R-Lebanon/Dauphin/York) will convene a joint public hearing focusing on House Resolution 63 which calls for a “Convention of States,” otherwise known as a limited constitutional convention under Article V of the U.S. Constitution. Testimony will also be presented on the Compact for America and the progress of the nationwide Balanced Budget Amendment.
WHO: Testifiers will include: Michael Bekesha, Judicial Watch; Nick Dranias, Compact for America Education Foundation; Mike Farris, Convention of States Project; Janine Hansen, Eagle Forum; Barry Kauffman, Common Cause; Dr. Matthew Spalding, Kirby Center; and Mike Stern, Balanced Budget Amendment Task Force.
