Tell House Blue Dog Democrats to quit chasing their tails and put PA Taxpayers First

State Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) is encouraging all Pennsylvania taxpayers to visit StateCapitolProtest.com, review the list of the 10 Most Wanted Pennsylvania lawmakers (Pennsylvania House Blue Dog Democrats) and demand that they make a public statement to vote only for a balanced and fiscally responsible 2009-10 state budget that reigns in excessive spending and does not include any tax or fee increases.

“Even though they have had multiple opportunities, not one of these so-called maverick House Blue Dog Democrats have backed up their pro-taxpayer barking by voting alongside House Republicans to send the governor a balanced 2009-10 state budget that does not increase the economic burden on working Pennsylvania taxpayers,” said Metcalfe.   “Now is the time for Pennsylvania taxpayers to personally demand that House Blue Dog Democrats put all Pennsylvania Taxpayers First by voting against this unsustainable $28 billion three caucus-budget compromise.”

“With a final budget vote possibly only days away, now is the time for individual taxpayers to hold each of Pennsylvania’s 10 Most Wanted lawmakers accountable,” said Metcalfe.   “Ask them if they are truly Blue Dog Democrats fighting to protect the paychecks of working Pennsylvania citizens or if they are merely lapdogs for our Spend-a-Holic governor, Keith McCall, Todd Eachus, Dwight Evans, Bill DeWeese and the rest of House Democrat leadership whose top legislative priority is to stand every taxpayer on their heads and shake the pennies from our pockets.

In addition, the downloadable Pennsylvania’s Most Wanted poster at StateCapitolProtest.com includes all Republican state Senators who also have the ability to defeat this fiscally irresponsible budget compromise to put Pennsylvania Taxpayers First:
  • Demand they each personally make a public statement against any tax or fee increases.
  • Demand that they call on their leadership to stand with them against tax fee increases if they want to remain in their leadership role.
“Rather than adding to their legacy as the Caved-In Caucus, it is time for every Senate Republican to vote in a fiscally responsible manner,” said Metcalfe.   “Tell them that you are among the scores of taxpaying Pennsylvanians who simply can no longer afford having any portion of your personal income redistributed to pay for someone else’s health care, bus fare or excessive public welfare. Most importantly, tell them any tax increase, broad-based or otherwise, is not putting Pennsylvania Taxpayers First and will not be tolerated.”
