Liberals Want What’s Yours
The state budget stalemate continues because Gov. Tom Wolf demands an increase in the taxes that you and I pay! The old saying of, “Don’t tax you, don’t tax me, tax that man behind the tree,” does not apply to his proposed $4.7 billion tax increase budget.

Earlier this year the governor and his comrades at America Works USA attempted to mislead our citizens—through their mailings, radio ads and TV ads—to believe that this is only about taxing natural gas development to spend more on education.

His sales and income tax increases will hit the pocket of every hard-working taxpayer. The income tax would increase by 21 percent and the sales tax by 10 percent. In addition, the sales tax would be expanded to include services and items such as diapers and caskets.

Why does Wolf want to increase our taxes? The answer lies in revealing the identity of his comrades. America Works USA is an arm of the Democratic Governors Association. Last year they received $14.4 million from public sector unions and the public sector unions gave $5 million in support of Wolf’s campaign effort.

Public sector unions want more out of the taxpayers’ pocket. The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO announced in a press release that they were, “encouraged by Wolf's veto,” of our NO tax increase budget. AFSCME, SEIU and the teachers’ union PSEA all support Wolf’s tax increase budget!

His push to take more from taxpayers to fill the public trough is payback to his government union supporters. The proper role of government is to ensure justice by protecting the rights of the individual citizen. One of those rights is to enjoy the fruit of your own labor. Wolf does not recognize the constitutional role of government, but is attempting to use his office to advance the liberal redistribution of wealth schemes.

One of the reasons that our government is failing us, on so many levels and on a multitude of fronts, is that the proper role of government has been ignored. Individual office holders, levels and branches of government have meddled in areas where they have no constitutional or legal authority.

The judicial activism we have seen in our state and nation is accelerating the breakdown of our government’s role to serve and protect the rights of the people. Now the liberals who don’t have enough votes to win at the ballot box are suing and then relying on activist judges to overturn the will of the people.

In Butler County, the battle over Marcellus Shale development is a recent example of the liberal minority using the courts to infringe on the private property rights of a much larger majority as indicated at recent local elections.

The resolution to stop activist judges and elected officials such as Attorney General Kathleen Kane, who believe they are above the law, is for the Legislature to use the tool of impeachment.

Earlier this week the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ordered a temporary suspension of Kathleen Kane’s license to practice law. Being an attorney is a constitutional requirement to hold the office of Attorney General. I am having an amendment drafted to update my Kane impeachment resolution with this latest development.

On January 6, 2015, I raised my hand and once again swore to defend the constitutions of our state and nation. As your State Representative, I have specific constitutional responsibilities and duties to make law at the state level of our government and work as a balance of power to the other two branches of our state government and our federal government. I will continue the fight to defend the constitutions and protect taxpayers.
