State Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler)
Recognized by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as the Pennsylvania General Assembly’s “No. 1 Conservative,” State Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) is serving his eighth term in office. Representative Metcalfe serves as the Republican Majority Chairman of the Pennsylvania House State Government Committee.
The State Government Committee is responsible for reviewing legislation dealing with all aspects of state government, including: proposed amendments to the Pennsylvania Constitution, statewide initiative and referendum, the Public Official and Employee Ethics Act, the Regulatory Review Act, legislative redistricting, election code reform, lobbyist disclosure and campaign financing.
During his tenure, Representative Metcalfe has been a leader on the issues of taxpayer protection, the protection of Second Amendment freedoms, ending teacher strikes and right to work. Other legislative initiatives include proposals to completely eliminate property taxes in the Commonwealth and requiring voter referendum for any and all future local tax increases.
Representative Metcalfe was also the author of the Pennsylvania Voter Identification Protection Act, which requires voter to show valid photo identification each and every time they vote. For over a decade, Representative Metcalfe has worked to protect the integrity of one of the most important fundamental American freedoms, the right to vote.
As a statewide leader on ending the illegal alien invasion, Representative Metcalfe is also the founder of StateLegislatorsforLegalImmigration.com. The coalition, which was founded in 2007, serves as a network for state legislators across the nation who are committed to working together in demanding full cooperation among our federal, state and local governments in eliminating all economic attractions and incentives for illegal aliens, as well as securing our borders against unlawful invasion.
Located in Butler County about 20 miles north of the City of Pittsburgh, Representative Metcalfe’s legislative district includes Adams, Clinton, Cranberry, Forward, Jefferson, Middlesex and Penn townships, and Callery, Connoquenessing, Evans City, Mars, Saxonburg, Seven Fields and Valencia boroughs.
