Representative Metcalfe held his 8th annual Second Amendment Action Day on the steps of the State Capitol. Citizens from across the Commonwealth joined in support of protecting the right to keep and bear arms in Pennsylvania.

On New Year’s Day 2013, Representative Metcalfe officially took the oath of office to represent the constituents of the 12th Legislative District for his eighth term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. The state Constitution requires members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives be sworn in for the new session on the first Tuesday in January, which this year fell on New Year's Day.

Representative Metcalfe was the keynote speaker at the Boy Scouts of Butler County American Heroes Weekend. He highlighted his experience serving under oath in the U.S. Army and the importance of duty to God, family and country as stated in the Boy Scouts Code of Honor.
